High-Tech McDonald's Opening in Rosslyn Next Week: Report
It will open at the same location as the one that closed down three years ago to make way for the Central Place development.

ARLINGTON, VA — McDonald's is back in Rosslyn, and it's going to look a lot different from the location that closed down in 2014 to make way for the Central Place development at 1800 N. Lynn Street.
McDonald's will reopen on May 8 at the same location where it shut down three years ago, according to the Washington Business Journal. The new version won't resemble the old one much thanks to high-tech additions like mobile and kiosk ordering, and servers who will bring those orders straight to your table.
It's part of McDonald's larger push to try mobile ordering in locations in the D.C. and Baltimore areas.

Through the app, customers will be able to order and pay on their smartphones, and they can check into McDonald's on the app up to 100 yards away from the location, automatically letting the staff know to get your order ready as soon as possible.
The Rosslyn McDonald's reportedly will also have a separate McCafe counter for order and pickup of coffee and other beverages. It is also Central Place's first restaurant, although Cava Grill, sweetgreen, Compass Coffee, Nando's Peri-Peri, and The Little Beet have already signed on as well.
