Huge Monday Mess: I-66 Crash Kills Motorcyclist, Shuts Down Roosevelt Bridge
Police have since reopened all lanes after a motorcyclist died in the eastbound crash, according to a report.
ARLINGTON, VA — A fatal crash involving a motorcyclist in the early morning hours Monday shut down the Roosevelt Bridge during rush hour for more than three hours, according to a report.
All eastbound Interstate 66 lanes have since been opened, but the crash snarled traffic throughout the morning, forcing the police to divert traffic onto Route 110 until a lane could be reopened at about 8 a.m., according to a WTOP report, which added that the motorcyclist was transported to the hospital and died later.
"All lanes now reopened but traffic is still impacted throughout County," the Arlington County Police Department wrote in a tweet at 8:20 a.m. "Allow for extra time this AM."
