Inmate Died of Natural Causes, Says Medical Examiner
Arlington Police conclude investigation into inmate's death in August.

The death of an inmate in Arlington County in August was due to natural causes, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Anthony Gordon, 48, died on Aug. 22. The medical examiner’s report claims his death was due to an extensive history of medical issues, according to Arlington County Police.
Deputies with the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office found Gordon unconscious in a medical unit cell. He was transported to Virginia Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 3:41 a.m.

Gordon was serving a 5-year sentence for a third offense of assault and battery of a family member, according to Arlington Police.
This was the county’s first in-custody death since February 2013.
