James Beard Restaurant Awards: Here's the 3 DC-Area Finalists

Restaurants in Washington and Arlington were declared finalists in advance of the May 2 awards ceremony.

Last month, the James Beard Foundation released its 2016 list of nominees that included 18 D.C.-area restaurants, and now the finalists have been announced with just three area restaurants making the cut.

In the "Outstanding Baker" category, Mark Furstenberg of Bread Furst in D.C. will be competing against bakers in Boston, Brooklyn and San Francisco.

The D.C. region has two nominees in the "Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic" region, with Peter Chang of his self-titled restaurant in Arlington and Aaron Silverman of Rose's Luxury in Washington both getting selected as finalists to face off against four other chefs in Philadelphia and Baltimore.
