Juveniles Hospitalized After Assaults Near Arlington School, Park
A large group of boys assaulted three juveniles Monday afternoon near Barton Park in the Courthouse area, Arlington Police said.

ARLINGTON, VA — A large group of boys assaulted three juveniles Monday afternoon near Barton Park in the Courthouse area. The assault came about an hour after a large group of juveniles got into a fight near Thomas Jefferson Middle School on South 2nd Street, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
Police were dispatched at around 3:45 p.m. Monday to a report of a large disorderly group of juveniles near Thomas Jefferson Middle School. When they arrived, police officers were approached by two juvenile victims, who stated they were physically assaulted by two other juveniles.
Officers found the juvenile suspects in the area, detained them, and saw that one of them had suffered minor injuries from being struck with BB gun pellets. The juveniles at the scene who suffered minor injuries declined medical treatment.

The two juvenile suspects were released at the scene to their guardians.
At the later incident, police were dispatched at 4:55 p.m. Monday to the 1100 block of N. Barton Street. Police learned that the three juvenile victims were walking in the area when they saw a group of about 25 boys.

The group starting physically assaulting the three juveniles, police said. During the assault, one of the boys stole a cell phone from one of the victims. The victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.
Arlington Police said they are investigating both incidents.
