Latest Arlington Coronavirus Numbers: 593 Total Positive Cases
The Virginia Department of Health reported Monday's morning that Arlington County has 108 new cases of the coronavirus since Friday.
ARLINGTON, VA — The Virginia Department of Health reported Monday morning that Arlington County has 108 new cases of the new coronavirus, which causes the COVID-19 illness, since Friday. This brings the total number of cases in the county to 593.
The Virginia Department of Health is now reporting "probable" as well as laboratory-confirmed cases of the new coronavirus. As of Monday, the 8,990 cases include patients with a positive test and those who are symptomatic with a known exposure to COVID-19.
The Fairfax Health District leads the state with 1,970 cases. That includes 1,925 in Fairfax County, 24 in Falls Church City and 21 in Fairfax City, the state health department reported. The next highest number of cases are 793 in the Prince William Health District, 598 in Henrico County, 593 in Arlington County, 446 in Loudoun County and 421 in Alexandria.

As of Monday, 56,735 people in the state have been tested for the virus. The Fairfax Health District has seen 8,958 people tested, followed by 3,831 in the Prince William Health District, 3,337 in Virginia Beach, 2,594 in the Peninsula Health District and 2,437 in Arlington County

As of Monday, the Virginia Department of Health reported 1,500 hospitalizations, reflecting the case status when the state health department began investigating a case.
According to the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association's data tracker, which provides more detailed information on hospitalized patients than the Virginia Department of Health, 1,296 people who have tested positive for the coronavirus or are awaiting their coronavirus test results are hospitalized. That's down from 1,319 hospitalized people reported Sunday. The association says 1,324 people who tested positive have been discharged from hospitals.
