Arlington Public Library Is Offering A Limited Number Of Free COVID-19 Testing Kits

Arlington Public Library will be making 2,000 COVID-19 Rapid Antigen At-Home Test Kits available for free at 12 p.m. on Thursday.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington Public Library will be making a limited number of COVID-19 Rapid Antigen At-Home Test Kits available for free at 12 p.m. on Thursday, according to Arlington Public Health.

APL is dividing 2,000 tests proportionately across all library locations. The rapid tests, which were provided by the Virginia Department of Health, expire quickly, so they must be used immediately.

In the past week, there has been a 35 percent increase nationwide in pediatric hospitalizations due to the spread of the omicron coronavirus variant. This has sparked a growing demand for Rapid Antigen At-Home Test Kits.

Due to this increased demand and the limited number of tests available, APL expects the test kits to quickly go out of stock. More guidance on antigen tests is available from VDH.

Curative Testing Locations: Virginia Highlands Park, Thurgood Marshall Academy, Courthouse Plaza, and Arlington Mills Visit curative.com or call the Arlington COVID-19 Hotline at 1-800-232-0233 to make an appointment. Due to the high demand for tests, Curative is cutting off walk-ups — people without appointments — at 3:30 p.m. and they will not be seen after 5 p.m.
