Lopez Launches Caucus to Tackle Environmental Concerns in Virginia

"We have an opportunity to create thousands of new jobs in the energy efficiency, solar, and wind energies," says Del. Alfonso Lopez.

Del. Alfonso Lopez (D- Arlington) has launched the Virginia Environment and Renewable Energy Caucus (VERE), according to a news release from his office.

The VERE Caucus will provide an opportunity for legislators to meet with Administration officials, industry experts, and environmental advocates, to discuss how to work together to preserve the environment for future generations while strengthening our economy through sustainable, clean energy investments.

“Virginia is at a crossroads,” said Lopez in the release. “We have an opportunity to create thousands of new jobs in the energy efficiency, solar, and wind energies, while reducing our carbon footprint. We cannot afford to fall further behind in developing a more competitive, efficient, and sustainable energy economy.”
