Major Gridlock In Crystal City Due To Uber, Lyft Drivers: Report
County officials reportedly are trying to figure out what to do about the problem.

ARLINGTON, VA -- The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority's decision to relocate the Reagan Airport waiting lot for Uber and Lyft drivers to a parking lot in Crystal City has caused a major gridlock problem for area neighborhoods.
WTOP reports that the lot is situated between Jefferson Davis Highway and South Eads Street near 27th Street South, and it opened in April. Since then, it has caused huge backups at times since there is only one entrance, and it is located in South Eads Street adjacent to neighborhoods.
Additionally, drivers become irritated and aggressive due to the backups, and the constant horn-honking is disrupting the piece of the surrounding neighborhoods, according to the report.

Arlington County is now examining the issue, and reportedly is considering an exit at 27th Street that would allow rideshare drivers to quickly leave the lot and get on the airport access road. Officials think that could slash the number of cars using the Eads Street exit by half.
