Man Accused Of Throwing Rock At Arlington Police Vehicle
An Arlington officer suffered minor injuries after a man threw a rock at a patrol vehicle and struck an officer, police said.

ARLINGTON, VA — A man was arrested early Tuesday after police said he threw a rock at an Arlington patrol vehicle and struck an officer.
The incident happened shortly before 3: 30 a.m. in the 4900 block of Columbia Pike, according to Arlington County police. A patrol officer was driving in the area when police said Teklezghi Habate Marian, 46, of an undetermined address, threw a rock at the vehicle’s windshield, causing damage.
Police said the officer got out of the vehicle and gave commands, but Marian did not comply. A second officer arrived and also gave commands before Marian struck the officer, police said.

After officers deployed a Taser and additional officers arrived, Marian was taken into custody. One officer suffered minor injuries, police said.
Marian was charged with assault on police, obstruction of justice, missile into an occupied vehicle and destruction of property. He was held without bond.
