Man Asks For Ride, Gets Stabbed Instead In Arlington: Police

The victim was walking in South Arlington when he got into an argument that turned violent, police say.

ARLINGTON, VA -- A man is recovering after being stabbed when he asked another man where he could get a ride, police say.

The victim was walking in the 3100 block of S. Glebe Road at around 6:44 p.m. on Sunday when he approached a stranger and asked where he could locate a ride, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

"A verbal altercation ensued, which escalated into physical violence resulting in the stabbing of the victim," the report states. "The victim ran from the scene and was located in the City of Alexandria by Alexandria Police."

The man was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Police described the suspect as a man with long hair.
