ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are investigating an attempted abduction of a girl who was seated in a vehicle parked at a gas pump at a station on Langston Boulevard.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, police were dispatched to the gas station in the 5600 block of Langston Boulevard, west of the Lee Harrison shopping center.

Police learned that at about 6 p.m., the girl was sitting in the backseat of the vehicle parked at a gas pump when an unknown man repeatedly asked her to get inside his vehicle.

The girl yelled, alerting her guardian, and the man fled the scene in a vehicle driven by another man, police said.

The man did not make physical contact with the girl, and no injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a Black man in his 20s, according to police. The driver of the vehicle is described as a white man in his 20s.
