Man On Bike Wanted In 2 Convenience Store Robberies: Report

Arlington County Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man they say robbed two convenience stores.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police released a cellphone photo of a suspect wanted in connection with a pair of recent convenience store robberies in the Four Mile Run area, according to a police release.

Police were dispatched around 7:38 a.m., on Jan. 17, for the report of suspicious circumstances in the 4100 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. The arriving officers determined that a man stole beer from a convenience store. When a store employee confronted him, the man punched the store employee and brandished a knife before leaving the scene on a bicycle. The victim did not need medical treatment.

Officers were dispatched around 11:23 a.m., on Jan. 18, for the report of an assault in the 4900 block of Columbia Pike. A preliminary investigation revealed that a man had entered a convenience store and tried to conceal beer on his person. A store employee confronted him, but the man slapped her and then fled on a bicycle. The victim was not injured.

Police say that in both incidents the suspect was wearing a gray jacket with a red stripe, blue jeans, black skull hat, and white sneakers. He was also carrying a gray drawstring backpack and was riding a black bicycle.
