Man Charged After Trying To Bring Guns, Brass Knuckles On Metro

Officers discovered weapons after taking a 24-year-old D.C. man into custody for fare evasion at the Pentagon City Metro Station.

ARLINGTON, VA — A Washington, D.C., man faces multiple charges after police said he was found carrying two guns and a set of brass knuckles while trying to board a Metro train.

Demarcus Anthony Henderson, 24, was arrested Thursday morning at the Pentagon City Station in Arlington, according to Metro Transit Police. Henderson was initially taken into custody for fare evasion, police said.

After failing to comply with authorities during an identity check, police searched Henderson and discovered two semi-automatic handguns and brass knuckles in his possession.

According to Metro police, Henderson is facing several charges, including fare evasion and carrying concealed firearms.

"MTPD extends gratitude to our officers for keeping illegal weapons out of Metro, and is continuing boosted patrols across the system to reduce fare evasion & keep Metro customers safe," Metro police said in a statement.
