On Tuesday, around 7:30 a.m., police said they were called to an apartment building in the 3400 block of Glen Carlyn Drive in the Falls Church area (see map below), for a reported sex offense.
Police say that officers met with an 8-year-old girl and her mother and determined that the child was dropped off at an apartment-run daycare that morning before going to school.

While inside the apartment, the child was approached by a man renting a room in the same apartment, according to police. The man reportedly touched the child inappropriately and kissed her, according to Fairfax County Police.
Police say she broke free and ran to the woman babysitting her. The child called her parent, who immediately responded back to the apartment.
Arrest warrants for assault and kissing a child under the age of 13, with lascivious intent (18.2-370.6), were obtained and served on Santos Romero Gomez, 35, of the Falls Church area.
Officers determined that Gomez has rented a room in that apartment for several years and the leaseholder of that same apartment has run an in-home daycare there as well.
