ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested a man who they say kicked a police officer after being detained outside a business in the Arlandria area, according to the daily crime report.

Police were dispatched around 3:22 p.m., on Thursday, for the report of a trespasser at a business in the 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. Arriving officers learned that the management of the business had previously told the suspect to leave the property. The suspect later returned to the business and began to act disorderly, according to police.

The officers had spotted the suspect outside the business, but he began to ride away on bicycle. When they tried to make contact, the suspect approached the officers' cruiser. As the officers exited their vehicle, the suspect walked away, ignoring lawful commands. Police were able to detain the suspect without further incident, but while he was sitting on the curb the suspect became irate and kicked an officer.
