Man Dies in Costco Parking Lot in Pentagon City

The 70-year-old man was found unresponsive in his vehicle on Thursday.

ARLINGTON, VA — A 70-year-old man was found dead in a car in the parking lot of the Costco in Pentagon City on Thursday.

Police say officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of S. Fern Street at around 1:23 p.m. on Feb. 9 to a report of an unresponsive man inside of a vehicle, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

Police did not identify the business as is their policy, but numerous reports indicate that it was at the Costco. A photo posted by ARLnow.com shows an SUV parked near the Costco's entrance covered with a sheet around the driver's side.

Medics arrived on the scene, but the 70-year-old man was pronounced dead, police said.

Police don't think the death is suspicious. The Medical Examiner's Office will determine an official cause of death.
