Man Draws Weapon During Parking Confrontation In Courthouse Area: ACPD

ARLINGTON, VA — A Fairfax man drew a weapon after being confronted about parking illegally in the Courthouse area around 6:10 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

The man, Fernando Yu Shan, 28, was arrested and charged with brandishing, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, police said.

Police determined that the suspect was illegally parked near the intersection of Clarendon Blvd. and N. Troy Street when a person who was walking confronted him. The suspect got out of his vehicle and pulled a weapon from his trunk, which was later found to be an airsoft gun, police said.

During the confrontation, one witness heard screams from adults and children in the area, according to a post on Nextdoor.

The victim left the area and no injuries were reported, according to police.
