Man Drives Without Headlights, Jumps Out Of Car When Arlington Cop Spots Him: Police

The man faces a litany of charges, including drug possession and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

ARLINGTON, VA — A man leaped out of his car and fled into the night in an Arlington neighborhood after a police officer spotted him driving without headlights.

A police officer on routine patrol spotted a car driving without headlights on at around 12:13 a.m. on July 15 in the 1800 block of N. Danville Street and attempted to make a traffic stop, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

However, the man "exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot," the report states.

Other units responded and searched the area, but they weren't able to find the man.

They eventually obtained warrants for possession of cocaine, driving on a revoked license, eluding, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The investigation is ongoing, according to the report.
