Man Hospitalized After Assault At Arlington Central Library: Police

A man ran into Arlington Central Library on Thursday after getting hit with a stick and was assaulted again inside the library, police said.

ARLINGTON, VA — A man ran into Arlington Central Library Thursday afternoon after getting hit with a stick and was assaulted again inside the library, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

The two men, who were acquaintances, got into an argument outside the library, according to police. One of the men, 35, of no fixed address then struck the victim with the stick, police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, according to police.

After police were called to the library around 1:45 p.m. on Thursday in response to the incident, officers found the suspect at the intersection of N. Pollard Street and Fairfax Drive and took him into custody.

The suspect was arrested on charges of malicious wounding and was held without bond, police said.
