Man Punches Arlington Police Officer in the Face: Police

Police say officers were trying to break up a fight on Columbia Pike on Feb. 28 when the man became combative.

ARLINGTON, VA — A man punched a police officer in the face as officers were trying to break up a fight on Columbia Pike in Arlington earlier this week, police say.

Police were called to the 5500 block of Columbia Pike at around 2:50 a.m. on Feb. 28 to a report of a fight in progress, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

"As officers were investigating the incident, a subject on scene became argumentative and aggressive towards an individual being interviewed by police," the report states. "As officers were attempting to escort the subject away from the scene, he allegedly began to physically resist the officers, swung his arm and struck an officer in the face."

Police arrested 47-year-old Dorj Jargalsaikhan of Arlington on a charge of assault and battery of a law enforcement officer. He is currently being held without bond.
