Man Spits On Police Officer In Crystal City Hotel: Report

Arlington County Police arrested a California man Tuesday morning in connection with a trespassing incident at a Crystal City hotel.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested a California man Tuesday morning on a number of charges including assault and battery on a police officer and being drunk in public, according to the daily police report.

On Tuesday, around 9:31 a.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 1400 block of Richmond Highway in Crystal City for the report of a trespasser. A hotel employee told officers they had found a man asleep inside a room who began to act disorderly when asked to leave. The officers confronted the man, who yelled and refused to identify himself. At they tried to take the man into custody, the man resisted and spit on one of the officers.

The officers arrested Eric Slocum, 34, of Manhattan Beach, California, and charged him with assault and battery on police, obstruction of justice, trespassing, and being drunk in public. He was held without bond.
