Man Sprayed In Face After Answering Door In Crystal City: Police
The victim was sprayed with an "unknown substance" and the culprit made off with valuables, police say.
ARLINGTON, VA -- Police are investigating after a bizarre incident in Crystal City early Monday morning that left the victim seriously injured.
Police were called to the 1300 block of Crystal Drive at around 3 a.m. on Nov. 12 to a report of "trouble unknown," and found that the person who lived there had answered a knock at his door only to be immediately sprayed in the face with an unknown substance, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.
He was then assaulted by the suspect and lost consciousness, later finding that the suspect had stolen cash and items of value and fled the scene before police arrived, the report states.

The victim had serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. There isn't a description of the suspect.
