Man Tries to Ram Arlington Police Car, Smashes Into 3 Cars While Fleeing: Police
Police arrested an Alexandria man on attempted malicious wounding charges after he left a trail of destruction on Arlington Boulevard.

ARLINGTON, VA — Police have arrested a man accused of swerving his vehicle at a police car and then striking several vehicles while trying to flee onto Arlington Boulevard on Wednesday.
A police officer was driving south in the 200 block of S. Fillmore Street when a vehicle "crossed the double yellow line and attempted to strike the marked patrol vehicle," according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.
"The officer was able to avoid the collision and activated his emergency lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle," the report states. "The suspect vehicle continued on, striking a vehicle traveling northbound."

The suspect vehicle continued to flee north on S. Fillmore Street, blowing through a red light at the intersection with Arlington Boulevard and striking two other vehicles, the report states.
The officer was finally able to stop the vehicle and take the driver into custody without further incident.

Police charged 27-year-old Sulaiman Kanu of Alexandria with attempted malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer and three counts of attempted malicious wounding. He is being held without bond.
One victim was sent to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
