ARLINGTON, VA — A Manassas man died from injuries he received during a two-car collision Wednesday morning in East Falls Church, according to a release from the Arlington County Police Department.

Officers responded around 8:29 a.m for the report of a two-vehicle crash with injuries at Washington Boulevard and N. Sycamore Street.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the crash caused the driver of a van to be ejected from the vehicle and then become trapped partially underneath. Medical personnel were able to remove the driver.

The five people involved in the crash — two drivers and three passengers were transported to area hospitals. Four were being treated for non-life threatening injuries and another was treated for critical injuries.

The patient with critical injuries later succumbed to those injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified the deceased individual as 49-year-old Mauricio Campos Gomez of Manassas.
