Masked Man Robs Maywood Business At Gunpoint

Arlington County Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Wednesday night at a Maywood business.

ARLINGTON, VA -- Arlington County Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Wednesday night at a Maywood business, according to the daily crime report.

Police responded Jan. 29, at about 8:54 p.m., to the report of an armed robbery in the 3500 block of Lee Highway. Arriving on the scene, officers learned that a suspect entered a business and walked up to an employee behind the counter. He threatened the employee with a firearm and demanded cash from the register. After taking an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect forced the employee upstairs and then forced entry into a closed office, causing damage. The suspect then fled the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a black male about 25-26 years old and 5-foot-8 to 6 foot tall. He wore a jacket, gray pants, black gloves, a black mask and black boots. Police are continuing to investigate this case.
