MD Man Accused Of Trying To Rob Arlington Bank

The man was arrested in Washington, D.C. on Friday and charged with attempted robbery, police said.

ARLINGTON, VA — A Maryland man is facing charges after police said he attempted to rob an Arlington bank.

Tyrone Fitzgerald Hines, 61, of Suitland, Maryland, was arrested in Washington, D.C. on Friday and charged with attempted robbery following the incident, Arlington police said in a report.

According to police, officers responded to a bank in the 800 block of North Randolph Street around 10 a.m. Thursday after receiving a report of a robbery.

Police said Hines entered the bank, passed a note to a teller that demanded money and implied he had a weapon. Hines then walked out of the bank without cash and fled the scene in a car, police said.

No weapon was seen, and no injuries were reported.

During the investigation, police identified Hines as the suspect, and he was subsequently located with the assistance of the Metropolitan Police Department.
