Halloween 5K, 1-Mile Races Invite Families To Arlington's Bluemont Park

Kick off Halloween by running in either the Monster Mayhem 5K or the Monster Mile at Arlington's Bluemont Park on the morning of Oct. 31.

ARLINGTON, VA — Kick off Halloween 2021 by running in either the Monster Mayhem 5K or the Monster Mile at Arlington’s Bluemont Park. The 5K starts at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31 and the one-miler starts at 9:15 a.m.

The family-friendly races, in their first year, will start at 601 N Manchester Street in Arlington, just off Wilson Blvd. near the tennis courts.

The Monster Mayhem 5K has an out-and-back course that runs along the W&OD Trail westward in the direction of Falls Church before turning around.

Young runners are welcome to run in costumes. All proceeds from the races will go to the Healthy Kids Running Series, a program that promotes an active and healthy lifestyle for children.

Prices for the two races will increase starting Sunday so be sure to register before midnight on Saturday.

Registration includes a Monster Mayhem T-shirt, although shirts are not guaranteed to participants who did not register by Oct. 13.

Medals will be awarded to first, second and third place winners within each male and female age group.
