Power Restored to More Than 1,000 in Shirlington Area

UPDATE 3:32 p.m.: Equipment failure — and not a vehicle accident as reported earlier — caused a power outage in Shirlington Thursday afternoon to 1,523 customers, according to a Dominion Power spokesman.

The power was knocked out at 1:11 p.m. Thursday and returned at 2:39 p.m. to all but 151 customers, the spokesman said.

The equipment failure with Dominion Power occurred in the area of Arlington Mill Drive, he said.
