National Night Out Returns To Arlington In August

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are inviting community members to take part in National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 5-8 p.m.

Each year, neighborhoods and law enforcement departments from around the country gather together on the first Tuesday in August to promote public safety.

National Night Out is also an opportunity for residents to get outside and host events, where they can meet their neighbors and learn from local law enforcement representatives how to make their neighborhood safer. Past events have included block parties, music, ice cream socials, and other activities.

County residents who plan to host a National Night Out event and who want Arlington County Police to stop by, can register their event here.

Here are some of the 2021 National Night Out Events:

• Bluemont Civic Association 5220 11th St. N. 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
• Lyon Village Citizens Association 1800 N. Highland St. 7-8 p.m.
• National Landing BID, Crystal City Civic Association, Arlington Ridge Civic Association, & Aurora Highlands Civic Association 101 12th St. S. 5-8 p.m.
• Starbucks in Courthouse 2200 Clarendon Blvd. 5-8 p.m.
• 1st Street S. Neighbors 4420 1st St. S. 5:30-8 p.m.
• 4900 N. 14th Street Neighbors 4903 14th St. N. 5–7 p.m.
