New Ballston Restaurant Features Turkish Food, Wine Slushies
A new restaurant featuring Turkish street food and wine slushies is set to open in Ballston in the beginning of August.

ARLINGTON, VA — A new restaurant featuring Turkish street food and wine slushies is set to open in Ballston in the beginning of August, according to reports. Stageplate Bistro at 900 N. Glebe Rd. will open Aug. 7 for limited lunch service from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. that week. They plan to then open for dinner a short time later, according to ArlNow.
Patrons can expect Mediterranean-inspired dishes like a flatbread topped with different ingredients called Turkish pide, as well as soups, pasta, sandwiches and more. The restaurant's signature drink is a sangria wine slush, and they'll also have a full bar.
Stateplate will also host a "live-action" buffet brunch on Sundays, where chefs prepare food in front of diners while they enjoy live music, featuring a rotation of different genres like gospel and jazz.

“We’re going to feed the soul,” co-owner and executive chef Nelson Gonzalez told ArlNow.
Gonzalez and his wife, Mary Marchetti, are opening the restaurant together. The couple has impressive experience in the restaurant world, as they catered to bands and artists traveling on the road during tours for years.

The restaurant will accommodate about 200 diners, with 125 seats in the main dining area, 50 seats in the back, 28 seats on the outdoor patio and nine seats at the bar.
