Northbound I-95 Crash, Red Line Service Halted: AM Traffic In NoVA, DC
Here are the delays and closures to know for the Monday morning commute around D.C. and Northern Virginia.

On The Road
A crash was reported on northbound I-95 at 7:16 a.m. after VA-294/Prince William Pkwy. As of 7:36 a.m., all lanes are open, but delays remain. Drivers should stay alert on the left side.
At 7:09 a.m., a crash was reported on Backlick Road at Edsall Road in Springfield, affecting traffic in both directions. Drivers should expect delays and proceed with caution.

At 6:54 a.m., a crash was reported on the US-29 southbound ramp to VA-286/Fairfax County Pkwy. Drivers should proceed with caution.
As of 7:16 a.m., delays remain on DC-295 southbound near Pennsylvania Ave SE after a crash caused an injury earlier in the morning. All lanes are open, but expect slower traffic.
A crash was reported at 6:57 a.m. on Massachusetts Ave NW in D.C., westbound at Thomas Circle and 14th St NW. Motorists should proceed with caution.
In Maryland, emergency work is being conducted on MD-410/East-West Hwy in both ways between Jones Mill Rd/Beach Dr and Brookville Rd. All lanes are blocked.
From Monday through Friday, there will be single lane, rolling closures in the northbound and southbound right lanes of the George Washington Memorial Parkway between Spout Run Parkway and the 495 interchange, according to the National Park Service.
All northbound closures will take place from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. All southbound closures will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Single lane closures are needed to create a safe work zone for surveyors conducting surveys for the rehabilitation project on the northern part of the George Washington Parkway.
The NPS has closed parking lot C-2 and part of parking lot B at Turkey Run Park as part of the project. The parking areas will be closed for the duration of the project.
On The Rails
Service on the Red Line is suspended between the Farragut North and Van Ness stations. Shuttle buses will be running every 7 to 10 minutes, stopping at the Farragut North, Dupont Circle, Woodley Park, Cleveland Park and Van Ness stations. Crews are continuing to conduct repairs after Saturday night’s fire in the tunnel that was caused by a low-voltage wire arcing incident near the Dupont Circle station.
Starting on Monday, weekday Metro trains will increase the frequency of arrival times to every 15 minutes instead of every 20 minutes on the Blue, Orange and Silver lines, according to Metro officials. The wait times for customers on those lines should be even shorter, though, with trains arriving every 5 to 8 minutes at most of the stations serviced by at least two of those lines.
Weather
The first day of August is expected to start off cloudy, but then become mostly sunny by the afternoon, with a high near 87, according to the National Weather Service. Muggy weather will be around Monday night, with a slight chance of a stray shower. The weather on Tuesday is expected to be hot and humid, with a high near 89.
