NoVa's New Congresswoman 'Concerned' About Amazon HQ2
Congresswoman-elect Jennifer Wexton says she questions whether the area has the infrastructure to support Amazon HQ2 in Crystal City.

ARLINGTON, VA -- Although many view Amazon's decision to place half of its second headquarters in Crystal City to be a win for the area, many others worry about what that will mean for locals. And you can count newly elected Northern Virginia Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton as among them.
Wexton, a Democrat, will represent Virginia's 10th District when she is sworn in in January. That district doesn't include Arlington County, but the ripple effects of placing 25,000 workers in Crystal City and $2.5 billion in investment along with it is likely to reverberate throughout Northern Virginia.
"I'm glad Amazon recognizes that Northern Virginia is a top location to raise a family and grow a business," Wexton wrote in a statement, as posted by ABC 7's Anna-Lysa Gayle. "However, I share the concerns of my constituents regarding whether we have the necessary infrastructure, including roads, transit, schools and affordable housing, to properly welcome Amazon to our region."

She pledged to work with Amazon while also calling on them to be "a responsible corporate citizen" and ensure that locals are "not adversely impacted by this move."
