Pedestrian Struck in Crystal City, Sent to Hospital: Police
The driver was cited after trying to turn at a red light while a pedestrian was crossing, according to police.

ARLINGTON, VA — Police say a driver tried to turn on a red light in Crystal City and ended up striking a pedestrian, who had to be sent to the hospital.
Police responded to an accident with injuries at the intersection of 23rd Street S and S. Fern Street at around 5:10 p.m. on Monday.
"A driver attempting to turn on red struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk," said Arlington County Police spokeswoman Ashley Savage. "The pedestrian was transported to Virginia Hospital Center with non-life threatening injuries."

The driver remained on the scene and was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, Savage said.
