Peeping Tom Lurks In Courtyard, Hides In Bushes: Arlington Police

The man fled on foot after he was spotted, police say.

ARLINGTON, VA -- In a disturbing incident that took place in the Penrose neighborhood earlier this week, a peeping tom who was caught lurking in a courtyard tried to hide in the bushes and then fled the scene when caught, police say.

Police were called to the 2800 block of 8th Street S at around 10:48 p.m. on Wednesday to a report of a peeping incident, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

"Upon arrival, it was determined that a witness observed an unknown male inside a courtyard looking into the window of a residence," the report states. "When the suspect saw the witness in the courtyard, he attempted to hide in the bushes before fleeing on foot."

Police describe the suspect as a man who is about 6'0" and who was wearing a dark blue jacket and baseball hat pulled down and covering his face.
