Pentagon City Parking Jumps 50 Percent, Some Blame Amazon: Report

A parking lot in Pentagon City will be increasing monthly parking from $65 to $100 per month.

ARLINGTON, VA -- People who park their cars at one lot in Pentagon City are really going to feel the pinch soon, and some are blaming Amazon's decision to locate its second headquarters in Crystal City, according to a report.

WTOP reports that residents of RiverHouse Apartments were informed that those who park at the nearby Pentagon Row garage and surface lot would need to pay $100 per month per space beginning Jan. 1 -- which would be more than a 50 percent increase over the original price of $65.

“Please rest assured that this increase was just as much a surprise to us as this is to you,” RiverHouse General Manager Joe Mettee wrote in the letter, according to the report.
