Pentagon Police Detain 2 Juveniles In Crystal City Carjacking: ACPD

ARLINGTON, VA — Two juveniles sought by Arlington County Police in connection with an attempted armed carjacking early Saturday morning, were detained by members of the Pentagon police force, according to authorities.

ACPD officers responded around 12:43 a.m. for the report of an attempted carjacking in the 400 block of 11th Street South in Crystal City. The victim told police that two men approached him as he was exiting a parked car and one of them threatened him with a firearm, according to ACPD. The man ran off and called the police. In the meantime, the two suspects fled on foot.

After a lookout was broadcast, officers from the Pentagon Force Protection Agency reported that they’d detained two juvenile males who matched the descriptions of the suspects. The two were handed over to ACPD officers, who took them into custody, according to the incident report.

During the investigation, one of the suspects gave the officers false identifying information. A firearm was also recovered, which turned out to be stolen, according to police.

Officers obtained petitions for the first suspect on charges for attempted armed carjacking, possession of a firearm under 18, possession of stolen goods, false ID to police and carrying a concealed weapon. Petitions were also obtained for the second suspect for attempted armed carjacking, possession of a firearm under 18 and possession of stolen goods, according to ACPD.
