Pet Of The Week: These Bonded Senior Cats Love To Run

Tinto and Yaiza are a 12-years-old bonded pair of cats looking for their forever home.

ARLINGTON, VA — Tinto and Yaiza are a 12-years- old bonded pair of Senior Sirs who love to run, jump, climb and play with any form of wand toy. Very vocal, they seek out attention and will happily follow you from room to room as you go about your day.

Hailing from Spain, Yaiza (pronounced "y eye-t-za" — a village in the Canary Islands) has all the energy of a younger cat and loves to climb. He frequently scales his cat tree from the ground and loves to do zoomies from room to room at night. His afternoon naps and bedtime rituals are quite novel; he loves to sleep under the covers and will cuddle your ankle or knee.

Tinto, (of a very dark color) is a black cat with the meekest of squeak meows. He loves to talk and has become quite the explorer. You'll find him climbing around and checking out every nook and cranny of your home. He takes a few more weeks to come out of his shell than Yaiza, but you'll know when he does because he'll never leave your side.

Both cats are super loving, take turns with attention, and have a penchant for scratching their claws. They prefer carpet scratchers over sisal and like to really dig in each time they get up and move around.

They both love attention and will engage in conversation with you if you talk back. They'll even come get you when it's time for their late afternoon treats. Both cats have come to enjoy dry and canned noms with a preference for seafood flavors over chicken.
