Police Catch Men Sneaking Through Elementary School: Report

Two men are facing burglary charges after police say they were caught swiping iPads from the school.

Two men are under arrest after police say they caught them sneaking through an elementary school in Arlington in the middle of the night.

Police were called to the report of suspicious persons at a school in the unit block of N. Fillmore Street at 2:10 a.m. May 21. The school was not identified in the police report, but the description is consistent with Long Branch Elementary School at 33 N. Fillmore Street.

An officer in the area had observed people shining flashlights toward the school and then entering through an unsecured door.

"Officers confronted the individuals upon their exit from the school," the report stated. "The suspects fled but were ultimately apprehended and determined to be in possession of Apple iPads."

Police charged 21-year-old Dvonte Medious-Jackson of Arlington and 22-year-old James Minor of Arlington with burglary and grand larceny.
