Police Report Attempted Abduction of Teen in Arlington

She was getting into her car Monday night when two Hispanic men grabbed her from behind.

Arlington County Police report that two men tried to abduct a teenager Monday night.

The incident took place in the 3800 block of S. 12th St. The area is near the intersection of Columbia Pike and George Mason.

At 10:35 pm, two subjects allegedly grabbed an 18 year-old female victim from behind as she was attempting to enter her vehicle. The victim tried to fight off her attackers and sustained minor injuries.

The suspects fled the scene when they observed a police vehicle in the area that was responding to a separate incident. The victim flagged police down and a K9 search was unsuccessful.

Suspect one is described as a Hispanic male, between 5’5” and 6’0” tall and had two stripes shaved into his hair near his temple. Suspect two is described as a Hispanic male, between 5’5” and 6’0” tall. He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident.

ARMED ROBBERY, 140905038, 5000 block of S. Columbia Pike. At 1:58 pm on September 5, a subject brandished a knife and stole cash from a register in a store in Columbia Pike Plaza. The subject fled through a rear door and is described as an Asian male in his early twenties, approximately 5’2” tall with a skinny build. He had long black braids and was wearing a black hoodie, black ski mask, white shirt and light colored jeans.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 140909003, 2300 block of N. 11th Street. At 12:57 am on September 9, two subjects grabbed a 25 year-old male victim at Rocky Run Park and demanded his cell phone. The victim was able to break free and flee the scene on foot. Suspect one is described as a black male, approximately 5’10” tall and 200 lbs. He was wearing a black mask and dark clothing at the time of the incident. Suspect two is described as a black male, approximately 5’10” tall and 200 lbs. He had short dreadlocks and was wearing a light colored short sleeve t-shirt.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 140908019, 1700 block of S. Taylor Street. Between 6:30 pm on September 5 and 9:45 am on September 8, an unknown subject(s) entered a learning center and stole three laptops. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 140905029, 1000 block of S. 17th Street. At 10:28 am on September 5, a neighbor witnessed a subject burglarize a residence and contacted police. Arriving officer located the subject a short distance away with a bag containing items he had stolen. Kavonte Richardson, 21, of Washington, DC, was arrested and charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, possession with the intent to sell stolen property and possession of narcotics. He was held without bond.

BURGLARY, 140907023, 3700 block of N. Dumbarton Street. Between 10:30 am and 12:10 pm on September 7, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence and stole items of value. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 140903033, 1500 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. Between 7:41 and 7:57 am on September 3, an unknown subject(s) forced entry into an office suite and stole four laptops. There is no suspect(s) description.

LARCENY (series), 140904053, 1300 block of N. Courthouse Road. Between 6:25 and 7 pm, an unknown subject(s) stole numerous items from a gym locker room. There is no suspect(s) description.

GRAND LARCENY, 140903065, 2400 block of N. Clarendon Boulevard. At 11:02 pm on September 3, an officer observed a subject pushing multiple bicycles in an area that has experienced numerous thefts. The subject was stopped outside his van and it was determined that he was in possession of three stolen bicycles and a backpack full of burglarious tools. Lee Clarke, 48, of Washington, DC, was arrested and charged with grand larceny, possession of burglarious tools, identity theft, failure to ID and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was held on a secured bond.
