Police Report Attempted Bank Robbery in Rosslyn

Incident took place Wednesday afternoon just before 5 p.m., according to FBI.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police and the FBI are investigating an attempted bank robbery Wednesday afternoon in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood.

Police say that at approximately 4:48 p.m. Wednesday, an unknown subject attempted to rob the Wells Fargo Bank at 1300 Wilson Blvd. (see map below), but was unsuccessful. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

According to the FBI, the suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, approximately 6’0” and weighed 180 lbs. He was wearing a blue cap, surgical mask, black zip up jacket, black pants, and wool gloves.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of this bank robber.

The FBI’s Washington Field Office and the Arlington County, Virginia, Police Department are investigating this bank robbery and request that anyone with information call the FBI at 202-278-2000 or the Arlington County Crime Solvers at 866.411.TIPS (8477).
