Police Search for Car Theft Suspects After Crash in Fairlington

Suspects driving what police say was a stolen car crashed their vehicle in Arlington’s Fairlington neighborhood after fleeing from a traffic stop overnight Tuesday, prompting a search in the area for the suspects, according to police.

After officers initiated a traffic stop, the suspects sped off and crashed the car at approximately 2:20 a.m. Tuesday at 34th Street and Wakefield Street, Sternbeck said. The only description of the suspects were that they are black males, Sternbeck said.

The suspects fled the car and police searched the area for them from the time of the crash until morning.
