ARLINGTON, VA — Multiple marked and unmarked police cars swarmed the area around an apartment building in Pentagon City in response to a burglary in progress Friday afternoon -- but then found out the individual was allowed to be there.
A large contingent of Arlington County police officers were on the scene and an officer with a K9 dog could be seen examining the perimeter of the building at 1401 S. Joyce Street, which is just steps from Pentagon Row and the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City.
Arlington County Police spokeswoman Ashley Savage said that police were responding to a burglary in progress. Shortly after, however, police figured out the individual was just visiting someone at the building and was allowed to be there.
