Popular Ballston Bar is Shutting Down for Good: Report
Carpool is moving to Fairfax County this summer, and that means the Ballston location is closing its doors this April.
ARLINGTON, VA — A bar in Ballston reportedly is shutting its doors for good soon and moving to Fairfax County.
Carpool, and auto-themed sports bar located at 4000 Fairfax Drive, has leased nearly 8,000 square feet at the Fair Lakes Shopping Center in Fairfax, according to a Washington Business Journal report.
The restaurant will reopen in Fairfax on July 1, and the Ballston location will shut down in early April, the report states, adding that employees have been invited to serve at the new location in Fairfax, and they have known for years that Carpool might move out of Arlington.

The bar is moving because the property is being eyed for redevelopment into an apartment building, although the most recent buyers put the property back up for sale.
