ARLINGTON, VA — A lockdown at Wakefield High School in Arlington was lifted Thursday as students were dismissed and county authorities continued investigating a reported trespasser.

Wakefield High School was locked down shortly before 12:45 p.m. Thursday as police investigated the trespassing report, Arlington Public Schools confirmed on Twitter.

In an update posted shortly after 3 p.m., Arlington County police said no trespasser was found on school property.

During the investigation, school officials asked parents and guardians not to come to the school to pick up their children. Around 3:30 p.m., school officials tweeted that bus delays were expected on multiple routes.

No injuries were reported, police said.
