Post Office Closed Monday, Jan. 18 for Holiday

The Merrifield and Dulles business mail entry units will be open and some self-serve kiosks will be available.

All Northern Virginia Post Offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 18 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the U.S. Postal Service said in a news release. There will be no retail or regular collection operations Monday, Jan.18.

There will be no delivery operations on Monday, Jan.18, with the exception of Priority Mail Express with Holiday Delivery Premium service fees applied.

All Business Mail Entry Units (BMEUs) will be closed Monday, Jan.18 with the exception of the Merrifield BMEU, which will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Dulles BMEU, which will be open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Customers who wish to purchase stamps and other products and services may use any of the Self-Service Kiosks listed below, according to the post office. At Self-Service Kiosks, customers can access most retail services; including renewing PO Boxes, purchasing stamps, weighing packages and calculating postage for Priority Express Mail, Priority Mail, and First-Class Mail. Self-Service Kiosks accept debit and credit cards only.

In addition, many services available at the Post Office are available online 24/7 at www.usps.com . Customers can buy stamps, use Click-N-Ship to print their own mailing labels, pay for postage and confirm delivery. They can even request a package pick up at their home or office at no extra charge on a regular business day, the postal service points out.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
