UPDATE: Power Knocked Out to 3,000-Plus Homes
FedEx truck brought down power lines Tuesday afternoon just after 2 p.m. Power at area homes, DMV, traffic lights went out.

About 150 people patiently waiting at the Arlington DMV office were turned away after the place went dark Tuesday afternoon.
They were part of a 3,300-home outage after a FedEx truck brought down a power line, according to a report by ARLnow.
In addition to homes losing power, some traffic signals also went dark.

The power at the DMV office blinked a few times and finally stayed off a little after 2 p.m. The DMV waited around a bit but finally decided to close the office.
“We’re having power surges. We have no ETA ,“ a spokeswoman said.

The DMV said they will be open on Wednesday; hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
