UPDATE: Union Cancels Reagan Airport Strike Due to Brussels Terrorist Attacks
The SEIU had organized a nationwide airport strike lasting 24 hours and starting tonight.

The terror attacks in Brussels, Belgium had prompted the Service Employees International Union to call off a nationwide airport strike that would have affected Reagan National Airport.
At least 30 people are dead after terrorists detonated bombs at the airport and subway in Brussels, leading the SEIU to postpone the strike "out of respect for innocent victims," a union spokesperson said according to multiple media reports.
Airport workers had planned a major nationwide strike beginning tonight that would last for 24 hours, and Reagan National Airport was one of the sites.

“We stand in solidarity with the Brussels Airport workers and our thoughts and prayers are with the families that lost loved ones in this senseless tragedy,” Legesse Woldearegay, a customer-service agent for a Delta and American airlines contractor, said according to a widely circulated statement. "We must all work together to make our airports as safe as they can possibly be."
Airport officials weren't expecting significant delays as a result of the strike. Organizers had intended to make themselves as visible as possible for a 24-hour period to bring attention to their demands of an hourly minimum wage of $15.

The SEIU said that 2,000 workers were expected to strike at airports including Chicago's O'Hare, New Jersey's Newark Liberty, New York's Kennedy and LaGuardia as well as Reagan, to name just a few, according to a Washington Post report. The workers include baggage handlers and security officers.
Airport worker strikes happen from time to time, so officials do have a backup plan in place to prevent disruption to passengers.
Union leaders argue the strike is necessary to bring attention to the fact that many work for hourly wages as low as $6.75, and some have to work two or three jobs in order to support their families.
