Registered Sex Offender Exposed Himself Near Playground: Police

ARLINGTON, VA — A registered sex offender from Arlington faces multiple charges, including peeping and public masturbation, after a peeping incident Thursday night in the Alcova Heights area, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

Officers responded around 11:15 p.m. to the 300 block of South Glebe Road for the report of a suspicious person in the area. The victim was in his home when he saw someone looking through his windows and exposing himself, according to police.

Police who responded spotted the suspect exposing himself near a playground. The suspect tried to run away, but police were able to take him into custody after a brief pursuit on foot.

ACPD arrested 50-year-old Alexi Rodriguez, charging him with peeping, public masturbation, obstruction of justice, and sex offender loitering near a park. Rodriguez was held without bond.

On Nov. 27, 2006, Rodriguez was convicted in Arlington County Circuit Court for sexual assault: attempted battery for the third time within 10 years, according to the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry.
