Ride Share From Hell: Woman Finds Fellow Rider Touching Himself Right Next To Her, Arlington Police Say

ARLINGTON, VA — A woman had a terrifying ordeal in Arlington Thursday morning after the man she was sharing a ride with exposed himself and began to masturbate, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

Police say that at the intersection of Lee Highway and Spout Run Parkway, a woman was in a "ride sharing pool" -- police did not say if it was an Uber or Lyft vehicle, or some other service -- when she "observed a male passenger expose his genitals and allegedly masturbate," the report states.

"After the female passenger requested the driver to stop the vehicle, the male passenger fled the area on foot," the report adds.

Police described the suspect as "mid-20’s, with a partially grown out buzz cut, wearing a black t-shirt, dark blue shorts, with a black backpack."

Police searched the area but could not find him. The investigation is ongoing.

Arlington County Police spokeswoman Ashley Savage said that the incident involved a TNC (transportation network company) vehicle. According to the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, TNCs provide "provides prearranged rides for compensation using a digital platform that connects passengers with drivers using a personal vehicle. TNC drivers are referred to as TNC partners."
